another plea for imagination infusion in hollywood

Karate kid remake
Sex in the city 2
Nightmare on elm street remake
Alvin and chipmunks sequel
Footloose remake
Another Shrek
Cats & Dogs 2(wow, took them a while to find just the right script i guess)
another Underworld
Hairspray 2
Russel Crowe as Robin Hood in that story's 5 millionth telling

i might be interested in one or two coming out (none of the ones listed here), but for the most part i wish there was a way to get Hollywood to take a break from remakes and sequels for a little while, refresh the pool of entertainment. and quit dipping into 80's TV for ideas (A-Team Movie) and toys from days of yore (Strech Armstrong movie) or mixture of the two (Smurfs movie)!

i know, not a new rant for me, but if they don't have to come up with new material, why do i?

oh, and a break from shows about the life of rich people i don't care the least about (many of whom we wouldn't know at all if not for the show), a hiatus from that as well would be nice.

on a nice note, i am excited that Rapunzel is finally on Disney's schedule. i actually submitted that at an idea pow-wow back when i worked for them and they asked for ideas.

Historical Same Sex Marriage

hmmm

i want to look further into this, but at first glance, it seems that same sex marriage was part of the christian history of marriage, specifically two saints

Some Colin Updates

Posted by [info]baiocchi on 2009.12.14 at 22:08
It's been a weird month. Lots going on - so my updates have been sporadic, at best.

Let's look at the highlights, shall we?
  • Little Fockers will shoot until the end of January. For the duration of the shoot, Colin, Jenn & the cats are living in Studio City. Since I have a new job, I'm manning the lighthouse in OC during the week.
  • Colin is getting along very well with his movie "sister" - they play together whenever they can, they've had a sleepover, etc.
  • The movie is a huge deal - stressful at times, surreal at others. We are fortunate to have a movie with such an amazing crew - there are lots of folks keeping an eye out for Colin: stunts, production, wardrobe - not to mention his set teacher.
  • Colin lost a tooth, and had a second one pulled. We opted to have the dentist pull #2 because it was next to #1 - and Colin was getting fitted for "flippers " - false teeth for when he films.
  • In Couples Retreat, Colin had a poop joke and a pee joke (2, actually). In this movie, it's throwing up
  • Filming is hard work for the boy. We've had some meltdowns, but he tries his best every day and really enjoys doing the work.
  • Despite all the strangeness, we are on course for a fairly normal Christmas. Letter to Santa has been mailed, and the tree is ready for ornaments when Jenn and Colin get home.
There's one more big story from the set, which I'll put in another entry.

SOMETHING IMPORTANT

Starting tonight, I'm going to tag these entries as "friend only" - so you will need to sign on for a free LiveJournal account. If you don't know how, let me know -- I'll walk you through it...
